DESCRIPTION:LGBT+ History Month 2025: Discovering 30 years of Club Kali Activism\nOn the occasion of LGBT+ History Month 2025\, come join us as we delve into the rich history of South-Asian LGBTQ activism through the vibrant lens of Club Kali’s 30-year journey.\nCome join us at the Islington Museum for an exciting LGBT+ History Month event\, exploring the rich history of South-Asian LGBTQ activism through the lens of Club Kali. Discover the stories\, struggles\, and triumphs of this vibrant community over the past three decades. \nDon’t miss this unique opportunity to learn\, connect\, and celebrate together! \nThe event will be launched at 14:00 by The Mayor of Islington\, Councillor Anjna Khurana and Club Kali’s legendary DJ Ritu MBE. \nThen participate in an immersive Living Library experience\, in which Kali members will tell you about partying away at the Dome in Islington\, and what it was like to be part of the UK’s first ever safe space welcoming LGBTQ+ South Asian people to celebrate their diverse heritage. \nWhy not join a Tapestry Making workshop with Dhaga from 14:30: Textiles cherished by the South Asian Queer community will come together in this informal\, accessible session—feel free to bring your own fabrics to add to the collective collage. \nhelp create the Kali story tree\, mix and mingle with ‘Chai’ tea and Samosas\, \nbefore enjoying an exclusive screening of the Club Kali documentary ‘Discovering Kali’ (2022) from 15:30\, followed by a Q&A. \nAll welcome!\n  \nHave you got a Club Kali story to share?
